Located in the pristine Kangaroo Valley, two hours south west of Sydney, Glengarry provides a unique learning environment in which boys discover the tools they need to grow into fine young men. Glengarry’s two-term residential program is an expansive experience that accelerates boys’ social development and is renowned as a rite of passage into manhood.

The Scots College is seeking to employ enthusiastic, dedicated, and friendly male Residential Support staff for our Boarding facilities to ensure the ongoing provision of a warm, caring and safe environment for our boarders. This role is an excellent opportunity to be part of an innovative and exciting education facility that is making a real impact on the lives of Year 9 Boys. 

They will also provide mentoring, friendship and foster a sense of community. This is a live- in position which involves weekly dorm supervision and support for outdoor and other community activities.

The Residential Support staff receives a room with on suite bathroom and all meals, internet access, a telephone, use of a College laptop and use of the School's facilities on the Glengarry campus including basketball courts, a fitness room (gym) and dining facilities. Residents may live on campus for the duration of the time they are employed at the College and do not need to leave during school holidays.

The successful applicants will be self-motivated and friendly, with compassion for adolescents and an awareness of the responsibility attached to the duty of care of the boarders. A Working with Children check clearance is a prerequisite for this role.

This position is a 1 Year, Fixed Term Contract, to commence in Term 1, 2019

Reporting to the Director, Assistant Director, Head of Boarding, and ultimately the Principal, this role presents an exciting opportunity to develop pastoral skills and life experience within a unique, residential context.

This role will commence in January 2019. Working within a residential team, the successful applicant will:

  • Ensure the ongoing provision of a warm, caring and safe environment for our boarders
  • Support the Residential Program by providing scheduled Dorm and pastoral supervision
  • Provide mentoring, friendship for boarding students and foster a sense of community
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Glengarry Campus
  • Support specific Outdoor and Extra-Curricular activities within the Glengarry Program

We are looking for Residential Support Staff who:

  • Show sympathy and support for the Christian ethos of the College;
  • Are committed to the academic, residential and formative aspects of Glengarry;
  • Demonstrate professional & personal excellence, integrity, initiative & flexibility
  • Have excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a team with a commitment to personal and professional growth

It is desirable if you have:

  • A Driver’s License
  • Current First Aid, Bronze Medallion and/ or similar qualification
