Andrew Kellaway ('13)
What a Career!
Andrew Kellaway retires from professional rugby after an outstanding career, earning 49 Test caps for the Wallabies and establishing himself as the most accomplished Old Boy of the professional rugby era.
From his schoolboy days at Scots, Andrew was always destined for the highest levels of rugby. Representing the AAGPS, his state and his country, he was a standout talent. Yet, perhaps his most cherished achievement for the Scots community was helping bring home the joint AAGPS premiership in 2013, ending a 20-year drought for the College.
Post-school, Andrew represented the iconic myrtle green of Randwick, earned a Waratahs contract and captained the Australian U20s. He also etched his name into the history books, scoring a remarkable 10 tries in five matches at the 2015 World Rugby U20 Championship.
After stints in England, Japan and New Zealand, Andrew returned home to represent the Melbourne Rebels, earning his Wallabies debut against France in 2021. His debut year also featured a memorable hat-trick against the All Blacks at Eden Park, one of rugby's most formidable fortresses.
Andrew went on to represent Australia at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the 2025 British & Irish Lions series, cementing his place among Australia's leading backs.
Beyond his achievements on the field, Andrew has always made time for the Scots community. He has regularly returned to the College to share his experiences and wisdom with current students, spoken at Old Boys' Union events, and even served for a year on the Old Boys' Union Committee. His willingness to give back and stay connected with Scots is a credit to his character and the community he represents.
On behalf of the Old Boys' Union, congratulations, Andrew, on a fantastic career. Thank you for the memories, the inspiration and the pride you've brought to Scots, both on and off the field.
We look forward to seeing what comes next and know you'll always have a home at Scots.
