Worthy of our Forefathers: A History of The Scots College
Utinam patribus nostris digni simus.
May we be worthy of our Forefathers
Since its beginnings at Botany Bay in 1893, The Scots College has championed the honourable traditions, adventures and scholarly pursuits of generations of boys. Looking back on more than 125 years, Worthy of our Forefathers celebrates the stories of those boys, their teachers and families. Brimming with fascinating people and moments, illustrated with photographs and artefacts long hidden in the archives, the pages bring to life the many fine Scots boys making their mark for God in the world.
Written by a cast of Scots alumni and staff, compiled by Gareth Dyer from the Office of Heritage and Tradition, this 372-page, hard cover book is the first history book about the College since 1993.
Between the hard covers of this beautiful coffee table book there are 85 biographies by 26 authors, 331 archival objects are featured from 73 donors and 423 photographs provided or taken by 48 photographers, plus 32 essays, 4 poems and 5 cartoons, that together describe the honourable traditions, adventures and scholarly pursuits of generations of Scots boys.
